Sports RB Leipzig pay farewell to Chelsea bound Timo Werner before final home game of the season
RB Leipzig have given a farewell gift to Timo Werner ahead of his £53m move to Chelsea this summer.
The German international signed a five-year deal worth £175,000 a week, after four seasons at the Bundesliga club.
Ahead of his final home game against Borussia Dortmund, Leipzig handed their striker a special mosaic for the 24-year-old to remember his time at the club by.
Werner was given the present containing images of his time at the club, by sports director Markus Kroesche and managing director Oliver Mintzlaff.
His final home game for the club did not go so well as Erling Braut Haaland scored a brace as Dortmund took a comfortable 2-0 victory.
Werner's final game for the club will be against Augsburg on June 27, as the club announced he would not be featuring in the rest of their Champions League campaign.
The club will be hoping to seal third place in the Bundesliga as they are just one-point ahead of Borussia Monchengladbach.
The German forward has scored 32 goals in 43 appearances all competitions this season.
Across his four seasons spent at the club, he has produced 93 goals and added 40 assists to hand him the number one ranking in the club's history.
He has also broken into his national team where he has scored 11 goals in 29 appearances for Germany.
Frank Lampard will be hoping he will be able to replicate this goal-scoring success when he joins Stamford Bridge this summer, as he looks to close the gap to Liverpool and Manchester City.
