My dad never wanted me to play football - Steven Odey

Steven odey the former M.F.M , F.C Zurich and now  Genk F.C Attacker , has narrated his story growing up ,and how his dad wanted him to be a Doctor or a lawyer .

He disclosed this on his Instagram live seris , he said " I started playing football at a filed opposite ,our compound , and my dad use to punish me for going and he wanted me to be a doctor, not until the principal sign him told him he needs me to play for the school and I had to sign register at his office to do that ".

"After so many attempts , my school won the principal cup , fidelis Ikechukwu signed me to M.F.M ,and I wanted playing one season with them , after the season we got promoted to the National professional League, Then I already lost my Dad , and I played another 2 years before Zurich contacted me ".

When he was asked about his favorite time playing he Said" I have many best games, but the best was my hatrick against Lobi starts , which It was very impossible, seeing big defenders that you would be very scared.


When he was asked how he got his contract he said " Zurich saw my live games and told my agent , although they are many offer ,but I choose Zurich because it is the best place for me to showcase my talent at first , it's everybody's dream to play in Europe".

And he is now currently playing in Genk, he was asked and he said " Genk is one of the team that breed many players including our Ndidi and others .  And I would love to play for Chelsea and Barcelona and also what worked for me is Dedication, prayers and prayers ".
