Failed assassination: Garret Warren

Warren has played roles in Avatar, Iron Man 2, Mission Impossible III and quite a few other movies over his career.

On May 20, 2000, Garrett faced a situation far more dangerous than those his job had him do. He had just answered a knock at his door, to him it sounded like someone had hit his car and was trying to exchange information.

When he opened his door, he was staring down the barrel of a .32 pistol. Warren had extremely good reaction times from all of his years as an action stunt double, ...so when the assassin started firing he attempted to dodge the bullets.
He didn’t do too poorly though, seeing as he survived. He was shot 3 times before he fell. His movements are credited with saving his life.

One bullet entered his chest, narrowly missing his heart. Another hit him in the neck, barely missing his arteries. The third hit him in the hip, and came very close to hitting a few vital organs. Warren then fell on the ground, and his assassin shot him once more. In the head at near point blank range.

Warren turned his head at the last moment, the bullet entered through his right eye, and exited around his temple doing minimal damage to his brain. The gunman ran, thinking Warren was dead. Warren then dialed and called for his own ambulance before passing out.

The hit man was hired by his ex wife, model and actress Claudia Haro. This mother of two was charged with attempted murder and felonious use of a handgun and sentenced to prison for her part in the attempt on warren's life.
