Drug addiction is a growing issue which is common among the teens and the adults . Acholhol , marijuana, cocaine, heroine , bartiturates, Nicotine e.t.c are considered as drugs, once you are addicted you may continue using it despite the harm it causes. According to research 70% of teens are addicted to one drugs or another, leaving  thier life in danger  and not allowing them grow well, and as time passes by they will increse the dose and will find it very difficult to live without it , According to W.H.O the average age of a guy is 47 while that of a girl is 76 , guys uses drugs more than ladies. Some pain killers such as cocaine or heroine causes similar  harm to the health like a snake venom.
Addiction(Dickson Bell) is defined as a chronic, relapsing disorder characterized by compulsive drug seeking and use despite adverse consequences. It is considered a brain disorder, because it involves functional changes to brain circuits involved in reward, stress, and self-control, and those changes may last a long time after a person has stopped taking drugs. People get addicted to a particular drug or the other. They use drug  to do better ; Some people feel pressure to improve their focus in school or at work or sport , sex . Due to the pressure they will look at a drug as alternative once the drugs pays or give them thier required result they will continue band even double the dose . To feel good ; it produce intense feeling of pressure. It boost ones confidence and increase energy . To feel better ; people suffer from stress and anxiety , stress can make one to continue using a particular drug over and over again. For instance after a long day at work u had a drug who help you take away the stress , you would definitely want to try it another day but this time with a higher dose. And also curiosity and social pleasure;. In this respect, teens are particularly at risk because peer pressure can be very strong. Teens are more likely than adults to act in risky or daring ways to impress their friends and show their independence from parents and social rules. Some get addicted why some few do not get addicted , because of good self control , parental monitoring and neighborhood resource.

Drug addiction has effects on the mental and emotional health of an individual, one would think we are controlling happiness , overconsumption of drugs will make us frustrated  over any issue  , it also  makes people forgetful, ,makes them lack confidence will focus mainly on the drugs to help them do the errands, mood , low blood pressure, more likely to have an accident (at home, in a car, or at any bar when you are high , may be vulnerable to sexual assault or may engage in unprotected sex. Either of these could lead to pregnancy and sexually transmitted infection. One  could commit a sexual assault or other violent act. One  may find it hard to sleep, think, reason, remember and solve problems. harm to organs and systems in your body, such as your throat, stomach, lungs, liver, pancreas, heart, brain, nervous system cancer (such as lung cancer from inhaling drugs) infectious disease, from shared injecting equipment and increased incidence of risk-taking behaviors  harm to your baby, if one is  pregnant acne, or skin lesions if the drug you are taking causes you to pick or scratch at your skin needle marks and collapsed veins, if you inject regularly baldness male pattern hair growth in women, such as facial hair jaw and teeth issues due to clenching and grinding your teeth; or bad breath, teeth cavities and gum disease mood swings and erratic behavior addiction  psychosis (losing touch with reality) accidental overdose higher risk of mental illness, depression, suicide and death.

Drug addicts are likely to have cancer and live a shorter life and other health issues. In this respect, teens are particularly at risk because peer pressure can be very strong. Once someone is addicted to drug one has a higher tendency of going back . The best way to prevent an addiction to a drug is not to take th drug at all , a maxim says "prevention is better than cure".
