Gunners line up Brazilian starlet

Arsenal are set to step up their interest in Sporting Lisbon wonderkid Joelson Fernandes with talks set to begin next week.

A report from Portuguese channel TV24claims agent Kia Joorabchian, who has close links with Arsenal sporting director Edu, is set to fly to Portugal to discuss terms with the Primeira Liga outfit.

Joelson, 17, recently made his debut for Sporting and Arsenal are reportedly prepared to pay £13m to capture the Brazilian youngster, who is yet to sign a long-term deal at the Estadio Jose Alvalade.
