Chelsea close in on Havertz
Chelsea are reportedly closing in on a deal for Kai Havertz after receiving a major boost, according to Bild.
It was unclear how the Blues would finance a deal for Havertz, with big-money deals for Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech already wrapped up.
Bayer Leverkusen are standing by their £90million asking price but in a new twist they are now showing flexibility over the payments.
The fee was proving a problem for the Blues, who were reluctant to pay an up-front sum, but now Leverkusen have shown flexibility.
The Bundesliga club are willing to accept instalments for Havertz over the course of several years, with performance-related bonuses also included.
