Chelsea told they must pay £90m for Havertz
Bayer Leverkusen have told Chelsea they will not budge from their £90million valuation of midfield star Kai Havertz.
Frank Lampard is keen to add the German international to his squad this summer and, with Real Madrid and Bayern Munich pulling back, the Blues have a free run at Havertz, who has told the Bundesliga club he is ready for a new challenge.
However, Leverkusen are adamant that they will not lower the price of their top asset despite the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the transfer market.
Chelsea have already spent more than £80million on Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner, while Lampard is also keen on Ben Chilwell and Declan Rice to address the problems with his back line.
Leicester had originally hoped for a fee similar to the £80million paid by Manchester United for Harry Maguire last year, but Chelsea are hopeful of paying around £50million should a deal be reached.
